LESCO Completes Power Uplift Projects Worth Rs3.72bn in 2025

LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) completed major development and system upgrade projects worth Rs3.723 billion during 2025, aimed at strengthening the power distribution network, reducing line losses and ensuring an uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers.

According to figures released by LESCO’s Planning and Development (P&D) Department, the company implemented a wide range of Energy Loss Reduction (ELR) and Development of Power Distribution (DOP) projects at both high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) levels.

At the HT level, LESCO completed 97 energy loss reduction projects and 19 power distribution schemes at a cost of Rs1,354.856 million. Meanwhile, at the LT level, 1,767 energy loss reduction projects and 67 power distribution projects were executed, with a total expenditure of Rs2,368.366 million.

LESCO officials said the primary objective of these initiatives was to curb technical losses, replace obsolete infrastructure and provide consumers with safe, stable and high-quality electricity. As a result of these measures, system efficiency has improved significantly and consumer complaints have declined noticeably, they added.

According to the LESCO management, the company is modernising its transmission and distribution network in line with federal government policies and directives issued by the Ministry of Energy. LESCO will continue to prioritise consumer facilitation while maintaining the pace of development and system improvement projects, officials said.
