Investment opportunities in Pakistan’s energy sector are expanding, driven by policy support from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the country’s accelerating transition toward renewable energy.
Pakistan has rapidly emerged as a key player in global solar markets, achieving an off-grid solar capacity of 12 gigawatts, highlighting strong private-sector participation and growing investor confidence.
In addition, net-metered solar capacity has increased by more than 6 gigawatts, marking a major milestone in the country’s efforts to promote clean and distributed energy solutions.
During the last fiscal year, renewable energy accounted for 53 per cent of total electricity generation, a historic achievement that underscores Pakistan’s progress toward sustainability goals and strengthens the case for continued domestic and foreign investment in the energy sector.
