ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday announced a 0.9 per cent reduction in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for March 2026, following a decline in international market rates.

According to the notification, LPG has been priced at Rs225.84 per kilogram for March, down by 21 paise from Rs226.05 per kg in February. As a result, the cost of an 11.8kg domestic cylinder has been reduced by Rs2.52 to Rs2,664.88, compared to Rs2,667.40 last month. The revised prices will remain effective until March 31, 2026.

OGRA calculated the producer price of LPG—based on a propane (40pc) and butane (60pc) mix—at Rs184,537 per tonne for March, slightly lower than Rs184,751 per tonne in February. This includes Rs85 per tonne as excise duty. Consequently, the producer price of an 11.8kg cylinder stands at Rs2,177.54 for March.

The pricing structure also incorporates Rs4,669 per tonne in petroleum levy and 18 per cent General Sales Tax (GST) amounting to Rs26,552.94 per tonne.

For the consumer-end price, OGRA added marketing, distribution, and transportation margins totaling Rs35,000 per tonne, along with an additional 18 per cent GST of Rs6,300 per tonne on these margins. This brings the maximum consumer price to Rs225,837 per tonne, equivalent to Rs2,664.88 per 11.8kg domestic cylinder for March.
