ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with Robert Jan Siegert and a delegation from Engro Corporation and Engro Vopak Terminal Limited to discuss bilateral economic cooperation and review operations of the Engro-Vopak terminal at Port Qasim.

The delegation included Ahsan Zafar Syed, Ammar Shah, and Yasir Ali.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance Pakistan, the Engro team briefed the finance minister on the operations of Engro Vopak Terminal Limited, a joint venture between Royal Vopak and Engro Corporation. The terminal has been operating at Port Qasim since 1996 and plays an important role in Pakistan’s industrial and energy supply chains.

The delegation informed the minister that the terminal handles key chemical imports used by downstream industries and manages a significant share of marine liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports, which contribute to meeting household energy demand across the country.

During the meeting, representatives also shared their perspectives on the future operating arrangements of the terminal and emphasized the importance of maintaining continuity in specialized infrastructure that supports industrial production and supply-chain stability.

They highlighted the longstanding partnership between Royal Vopak and Engro Corporation, noting that such investments contribute significantly to Pakistan’s economic landscape and industrial development.

Welcoming the delegation, Aurangzeb underscored the importance Pakistan attaches to strengthening economic ties with the Netherlands. He said that long-standing collaborations with international investors help promote trade and investment, support economic growth, and reinforce confidence among the global business community.
