PM Shehbaz Engages Leading Chinese Firms on Renewable Energy and EVs

HANGZHOU: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a series of high-level meetings with senior executives of major Chinese companies in Hangzhou as part of his official visit to China, focusing on investment opportunities and enhanced bilateral business cooperation in renewable energy, electric mobility, energy storage, and healthcare sectors.

During his engagements with China’s corporate leadership, the Prime Minister met representatives of Sheng Huo Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company, CATL, StarCharge, and Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group.

In a meeting with Agnes Siu, CEO of Sheng Huo Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company, discussions focused on expanding cooperation in the renewable energy sector. Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted Pakistan’s rapidly growing renewable energy market and increasing demand for clean energy solutions, particularly solar power.

He also outlined various policy initiatives undertaken by the government to facilitate investment and growth in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector.

The Prime Minister later met Oscar Luo, Executive President of CATL, where discussions centered on advanced battery technologies, energy storage systems, and solar-linked solutions aimed at supporting Pakistan’s clean energy transition.

A separate meeting was held with Danwei Shao, Chairwoman of StarCharge Group, focusing on electric vehicle charging infrastructure and smart mobility systems. Both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in developing Pakistan’s EV ecosystem and sustainable transport infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Xin Yuan, President of Xiuzheng Pharmaceutical Group, called on the Prime Minister to discuss pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare cooperation, and investment opportunities in Pakistan’s expanding medical and healthcare sector.

The meetings also included detailed discussions on increasing Chinese investment, establishing manufacturing facilities, and expanding existing industrial operations in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the government’s investor-friendly policies and ongoing reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business in the country. He emphasized the importance of stronger business-to-business cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese companies to further deepen the longstanding strategic partnership and brotherly ties between the two countries.
