Mari Energies Commences 30 MMscfd Gas Supply to SNGPL from Shams-1

ISLAMABAD, June 23, 2026 – Mari Energies Limited has officially commenced natural gas supply of up to 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). The supply, which took effect on June 19, 2026, is being executed under an Extended Well Testing (EWT) framework following formal approval from the federal government.

The gas injection originates from the landmark Shams-1 discovery well, situated within the Mari Development and Production Lease (D&PL) in Daharki, Sindh Province. Mari Energies operates the field as the sole stakeholder with a 100% working interest. The initial exploration of the well tapped into the Lower Goru B-Sand reservoir, flowing a maximum of 47.98 MMscfd of gas along with 64 barrels per day of condensate during its early discovery phase.
This strategic rollout injects crucial indigenous hydrocarbon volumes directly into Pakistan’s national transmission grid. By utilizing domestic production over the EWT period, the operational milestone helps offset regional energy shortages, reduces dependence on costly fuel imports, and strengthens cash flows for upstream public sector stakeholders.
