The federal government has increased the price of petrol by Rs6.88 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5.62 per litre, effective till Thursday, September 17, 2026.

According to an Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notification, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs391.22 per litre, while HSD will be available at Rs421.45 per litre.

The regulator said the increase was primarily linked to higher petrol and diesel prices in the international market amid continued global uncertainty.

The prices of petroleum products have also been revised in view of changes in Platts rates, premiums and other relevant factors, OGRA said.

The latest increase will further add to the cost burden for consumers and businesses amid elevated international crude oil and petroleum product prices.

In the previous review, the government had raised the price of petrol to Rs384.34 per litre and HSD to Rs415.83 per litre.

Oil prices fell on Wednesday after reports that Saudi Arabia was offering more crude cargoes via Oman eased some concerns about Middle East supply disruptions, and a smaller-than-expected draw from the U.S. crude stockpile added more downward pressure.

Brent crude futures were down $3.63, or 3.3%, at $105.12 a barrel by 11:23 a.m. EDT (1523 GMT). U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures were down $4.11, or 3.9%, at $101.72.

Saudi Arabia is offering more loadings of crude oil to Asian refiners via ship-to-ship transfers off Oman’s Sohar port, people familiar with the matter said, blunting some of the hit to global supply from attacks on the country’s East-West pipeline to the Red Sea.
