Govt hikes petrol by Rs5.02, diesel by Rs5.28 for fifth straight review

The government continued to raise petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices at its final review of the week on Friday, increasing them by Rs5.02 and Rs5.28 per litre, respectively, for a fifth straight hike in petroleum prices.

The new prices will remain effective from Saturday, September 12, till Monday, September 14, 2026.

It was the fifth consecutive increase in petroleum prices in Pakistan. In last five days, the government has increased the petrol price by Rs29.95 and diesel by Rs25.27 per litre.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.
