ISLAMABAD: A high-level Saudi business delegation, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council, visited the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to explore investment and business opportunities across key sectors of Pakistan’s economy.

The visit provided an important platform to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and advance mutually beneficial investment initiatives.

The SIFC facilitated meetings between the Saudi delegation and senior government officials, relevant stakeholders and leading private-sector representatives from various sectors, including power, petroleum, privatisation, industries, communications and highways.

According to an official statement, discussions covered both Government-to-Government (G2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) investment frameworks, with a particular focus on priority sectors offering significant opportunities for Saudi investment and collaboration.

The visit underscored the strong and growing economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, while reflecting increasing interest among Saudi investors in Pakistan’s diverse investment potential.

The development comes as Islamabad seeks to deepen economic engagement with Riyadh and attract greater foreign investment to support economic growth and development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier expressed Pakistan’s desire to transform its economic relationship with Saudi Arabia into a mutually beneficial strategic economic partnership, aligned with the vision of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

During a meeting with the Saudi delegation, Prime Minister Sharif recalled Prince Mansour’s previous visits to Pakistan and expressed hope that the current visit would build on earlier discussions and lead to the signing of memoranda of understanding and investment agreements across multiple sectors.

The government views Saudi investment as an important component of its broader strategy to attract foreign capital, expand economic cooperation and accelerate development in priority sectors.
