FEDERAL MINISTER FOR POWER MEETS NEECA AND NEPRA HEADS.

  1. Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari directs NEECA to submit future strategies to elevate Pakistan’s energy conservation ranking in the world during meeting with NEECA delegation led by MD Sardar Mohazzam.
  2. MD NEECA highlighted the need of replacement of inefficient and conventional fans which consume around 9920 MW.
  3. MD suggests 35% reduction via Pakistan Energy Label Regulations 2023 and Energy Conservation Building Codes 2023.
  4. Minister for Power directs collaboration with Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association for effective plan execution on urgent basis.
  5. Managing Director NEECA highlights World Bank’s RISE score of 36 for Pakistan’s energy efficiency in 2023. Aim set to surpass 66 in the next 5 years.
  6. Minister for Power meets NEPRA Chairman, discussed performance of distribution companies and took suggestions to reduce burden on consumers
  7. The Minister for Power advised NEPRA to build capacity of its employees to handle affairs of disco’s privatization or Long term concessions, aimed to provide better service to the consumers .
  8. Chairman NEPRA assured to provide maximum relief to the consumers pursuant to the directions of the government
