Karachi – Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has reiterated the provincial government’s strong commitment to providing low-cost and environmentally friendly electricity to the people of Sindh. He made these remarks during a demonstration event held at the Energy Department office, where Inverex Solar Energy showcased its latest solar home systems, solar inverters with lithium batteries, and high-efficiency solar panels.

The demonstration was led by Mr. Zakir Ali, CEO of Inverex Solar Energy, in the presence of Secretary Energy Department, CEO Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company (STDC), MD Thar Coal Energy Board, and other senior officials.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Zakir Ali said, “Inverex Solar Energy is committed to supporting Sindh’s vision for a greener, energy-secure future. Our cutting-edge solar technologies are designed to provide reliable and affordable power to households and businesses across the province, especially in underserved areas.”

Minister Nasir Hussain Shah highlighted that the Sindh government had already established the province’s first power plant under a successful public-private partnership model, delivering electricity at a significantly lower cost than conventional sources. This energy is transmitted through STDC to relevant institutions.

He also shared that two solar parks have recently been completed in Sindh, with power to be supplied at the lowest tariffs, reducing dependency on fossil fuels and protecting consumers from high electricity costs.

“We are closely monitoring how companies are setting tariffs,” the Minister emphasized. “Our stance is clear — we must move away from expensive, fossil fuel-based power towards solar and hybrid energy solutions.”

Acknowledging the challenges posed by certain international agreements, the Minister noted that the Sindh government is seriously evaluating measures to overcome these barriers to accelerate renewable energy adoption.
