Trans Global Projects Strengthens UK Market Presence with Senior Logistics Appointment

Sevenoaks, United Kingdom: Trans Global Projects (TGP) has strengthened its commercial capabilities in the United Kingdom with the appointment of Richard Jones, who will lead business development activities across the UK market.

Richard Jones brings more than 30 years of experience in project logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain management, with extensive expertise in managing complex, technically demanding, and schedule-critical international projects. His career combines senior commercial leadership with practical project execution and chartering experience, enabling a realistic and delivery-focused approach to logistics planning.

He holds an MBA in Shipping and Logistics from Copenhagen Business School and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers.

The appointment is aimed at enhancing the quality of engagement available to UK-based clients by providing earlier access to senior project logistics expertise during project planning and tendering stages. The move is also expected to strengthen alignment between commercial commitments and operational execution while supporting improved risk management and collaboration across complex supply chains.

Richard Jones said his focus would be on engaging clients at the early stages of project development, where logistics decisions can significantly influence project costs, risk exposure, and schedule certainty.

“Clients are looking for partners who understand how projects are actually delivered, not just how they appear on paper. My role is to help translate project intent into logistics solutions that are practical, transparent, and dependable,” he said.

Michael Andrews said the appointment reinforces the level of senior engagement available to customers in the UK market.

“Richard brings valuable experience that directly benefits clients. His ability to engage early, challenge assumptions, and shape deliverable solutions supports a smoother transition from project concept to execution,” he noted.

Colin Charnock added that early alignment between commercial, technical, and operational teams remains essential for successful project delivery.

“When these disciplines come together at the right stage, projects operate more efficiently. This role supports a more informed and collaborative approach between clients, contractors, and logistics partners,” he said.

Based in both the United Kingdom and Australia, Richard Jones will work closely with TGP’s international offices and partners to support existing customers and develop new project opportunities globally.
