China, Pakistan Friendship Grows Stronger with Time, Says Chinese Consul General

KARACHI: Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong has said that the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China symbolizes far more than formal ties, representing decades of trust, sincerity, and unwavering mutual support between the two countries.

Addressing a ceremony held at the Arts Council of Pakistan to commemorate 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations, Yang Yundong emphasized that both nations have stood by each other through every challenge.

“China and Pakistan have stood together in every difficult time. This enduring support has made the friendship between our two countries stronger and deeper with the passage of time,” he said.

The Consul General highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in education, science, innovation, and the digital economy, noting that the youth of both countries would play a key role in shaping future relations.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Irfan Soomro praised China’s remarkable development journey and said Pakistan could benefit from China’s long-term planning strategies and investment in human capital.

He described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as a landmark initiative that has contributed significantly to economic modernization and shared prosperity. He also lauded the Arts Council of Pakistan for strengthening diplomacy through cultural exchanges, literature, music, and cinema, adding that Karachi is steadily emerging as a global cultural hub.

The ceremony concluded with bouquet presentations by Mohammad Ahmed Shah to Yang Yundong and Mohammad Irfan Soomro on behalf of the Arts Council.

A large number of guests attended the event, which featured a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary celebrations. Participants later watched a screening of The Shadow Chaser, featuring renowned actor Jackie Chan.

Among the distinguished attendees were Feng Daheng, Li Chong, Mudzakir, Sanjeewa Pattivila, and Ergul Kadak, along with members of the diplomatic community and citizens who gathered to celebrate the enduring friendship between Islamabad and Beijing.
