23rd Annual Environment Conference and Awards 2026 to be held on August 6th

Pakistan’s environmental leadership will converge in Karachi on Thursday, 6 August, as the National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH) hosts the 23rd Annual Environment Conference 2026 alongside the prestigious 23rd Annual Environment Excellence Awards 2026 at a prestigious hotel of Karachi. Held under the theme “Reclaiming Pakistan’s Livable Future: From Collateral Damage to Collective Ownership,” the event will bring together senior government officials, policymakers, environmental specialists, corporate leaders, development practitioners, and sustainability champions to shape the country’s environmental future.
The conference will open with a welcome address by Muhammad Naeem Qureshi, President of NFEH, setting the stage for a series of keynote addresses by distinguished speakers, including Dr Zainab Naeem of the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), DIG Traffic Sindh Peer Muhammad Shah, and Younus Dagha, Chairman of the Policy Research & Advisory Council. Their deliberations will focus on practical policy responses, institutional leadership and innovative solutions to Pakistan’s increasingly complex environmental and urban challenges.
A major highlight of the evening will be a high-powered panel discussion featuring leading voices from climate action, clean energy, industry, urban planning and water management. The session will examine how governments, businesses and communities can move beyond fragmented responses to build resilient, sustainable and liveable cities through collective ownership and coordinated action. The session will be moderated by Yasir Husain, Founder and Director of the Climate Action Centre (CAC), and will feature Engr Irfan Ahmad, clean energy expert; Kashif Rasheed, Manager HSE & Digitalisation, Mondelez Pakistan; Muhammad Toheed, Urban Planner and Acting Director, Karachi Urban Lab, IBA Karachi; Mr. Ameer Hyder Laghari, Chief Meteorologist at the Pakistan Meteorological Department; and a representative of the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation. The discussion will explore practical policy interventions, innovative technologies and collaborative approaches required to build climate-resilient, resource-efficient and liveable cities for future generations.
The event will culminate in the 23rd Annual Environment Excellence Awards 2026, one of Pakistan’s most respected environmental honours, recognising organisations that have demonstrated exemplary leadership in environmental protection, resource efficiency, sustainable development and corporate responsibility. The awards ceremony will include addresses by NFEH leadership, members of the awards jury, the guest of honour and the chief guest before the presentation of awards to this year’s outstanding achievers.
Over the past two decades, the NFEH Annual Environment Conference has evolved into one of Pakistan’s foremost platforms for environmental dialogue, fostering collaboration between government, industry, academia and civil society while inspiring practical solutions to the country’s most pressing ecological challenges. The 23rd edition is expected to build on that legacy by promoting partnerships, recognising excellence, and accelerating collective action for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Pakistan.
