# NBP Marks 79th Independence Day with Flag-Hoisting Ceremony in Karachi
**Karachi:** The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) celebrated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a ceremony at its Head Office in Karachi, attended by President & CEO **Rehmat Ali Hasnie**, senior management and employees from across the Bank.
The celebrations featured the hoisting of the national flag by the NBP President, the national anthem and a cake-cutting ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Rehmat Ali Hasnie paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s founders and the Armed Forces, emphasizing the Bank’s role in promoting financial inclusion and supporting economic empowerment across the country.
“Real freedom means economic empowerment and financial inclusion for every Pakistani,” he said. “This year has been a landmark one for the Bank, and that strength allows us to do even more for the people of Pakistan, including our farmers, shopkeepers, students and women entrepreneurs.”
Hasnie also highlighted NBP’s ongoing digital transformation and its continued commitment to serving pensioners, remittance senders and government beneficiaries, reinforcing the Bank’s position as **“The People’s Bank.”**
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening NBP’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic development and inclusive growth.
