# Pakistan Embassy in Ankara Marks 79th Independence Anniversary
**ANKARA:** The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara observed Pakistan’s 79th Independence Anniversary with a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony attended by embassy officials, members of the diplomatic community and Pakistani citizens residing in Türkiye.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and the hoisting of the Pakistani flag.
During the ceremony, Deputy Head of Mission **Shaiq Ahmed Bhutto** read out the special message of the President of Pakistan, highlighting the historic struggle for independence, the country’s achievements and the importance of national unity.
Counsellor **Ammar Amin** subsequently presented the message of the Prime Minister, which emphasized Pakistan’s resilience, commitment to socioeconomic development and determination to achieve progress and stability.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador of Pakistan to Türkiye **Dr. Yousaf Junaid** highlighted the significance of August 14 for the Pakistani nation and paid tribute to **Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah** and the other founding fathers for their struggle and sacrifices in establishing Pakistan.
The Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the principles of freedom, justice and self-determination. He also highlighted the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, expressing confidence that the two countries’ deep-rooted strategic partnership would continue to grow stronger.
The ceremony concluded with traditional greetings among participants, reflecting national pride, solidarity and the enduring spirit of Pakistan.
