BEIJING: China’s exports of refined oil products declined 2.2 per cent year-on-year in November, although shipments rose sharply on a month-on-month basis, according to customs data released on Thursday.
Total refined oil exports—including diesel, gasoline, aviation fuel and marine fuel—stood at 5.12 million metric tons in November, up 13.3 per cent from 4.52 million metric tons in October. Cumulatively, China exported 52.65 million metric tons of refined oil during January–November, marking a 3.2 per cent decline compared to the same period last year.
Gasoline exports fell sharply to 610,000 metric tons in November, down 51.7 per cent year-on-year. Over the first eleven months of the year, gasoline exports totalled 7.69 million metric tons, reflecting a 16 per cent annual decline.
In contrast, aviation fuel exports surged 53.6 per cent year-on-year to 2.43 million metric tons in November. From January to November, aviation fuel shipments rose 10.9 per cent year-on-year to 19.55 million metric tons.
Diesel exports increased 5.2 per cent year-on-year in November to 420,000 metric tons. However, for the first eleven months of the year, diesel exports dropped 21.3 per cent to 6.23 million metric tons.
Meanwhile, China’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports rebounded strongly, rising 13.6 per cent year-on-year to 6.94 million metric tons in November—the highest level in eleven months. Despite the rebound, LNG imports for January–November declined 13.7 per cent year-on-year to 60.01 million metric tons.
