KARACHI: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has commenced gas production from the Lundali-1 well in the Sukhpur-II Block in Sindh, with first gas achieved on September 6, 2026, according to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
OGDCL, which holds a 30 percent working interest in the block, said the well had been successfully commissioned and was currently producing 10 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas at a wellhead pressure of 2,000 pounds per square inch (psi).
The gas produced from Lundali-1 is being supplied to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC).
Prime Global Energies Limited is the operator of the Sukhpur-II Block with a 25 percent working interest, while Mari Energies Limited and Turkish Petroleum Overseas Company Limited hold 30 percent and 15 percent interests, respectively.
The Petroleum Concession Agreement and Exploration Licence for the Sukhpur-II Block became effective on December 2, 2025.
According to OGDCL, Lundali-1 was drilled under a previous joint venture arrangement and was subsequently brought on stream by the current joint venture.
The company said the commencement of production from the well would add indigenous gas to the country’s energy supply and contribute to meeting domestic demand.
The disclosure was made by OGDCL in compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations.
