ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a negative adjustment of Rs6.69 billion for K-Electric (KE) for the April-June 2023 quarter under the Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA) mechanism. This adjustment will be incorporated into the new Multi-Year Tariff (MYT) for the period 2023-24 to FY 2029-30. Deadline for July and August Bills Extended Following Overbilling Accusations Against Discos
ISLAMABAD: Amidst accusations of widespread overbilling by power distribution companies, including K-Electric, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended the deadline for payment of July and August electricity bills by 10 days. An inquiry by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) revealed that all distribution companies had been overcharging consumers from April to June 2024. In response, Nepra ordered the companies to adjust bills on a pro-rata basis and replace faulty meters.
