August 9, 2023: Subsequent to completion of restoration works in the tail race tunnel, Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project has resumed electricity generation. Federal Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah visited Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project and resumed the electricity generation by pressing the button. He also unveiled a plaque to mark resumption of electricity generation from the project. At present, Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project is providing 969 MW to the National Grid. LAHORE: Average natural gas consumption reduced by 8.61 percent to 3,258 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) year-on-year in July-March 2023 (9MFY23) period against 3,565 mmcfd use recorded in the corresponding period last year.According to Economic Survey 2023 released by the government, total consumption of indigenous gas and imported Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) stood at 2,627 mmcfd and 631 mmcfd, respectively, during Jul-Mar FY2023. ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday cut the re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) prices for both the Sui companies by up to $0.714 per MMBtu (or 5.22 percent) for the month of June, 2023.
