ISLAMABAD: Details of salaries, positions and benefits of senior management of Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) were presented in the Senate, revealing that the company’s top executives receive monthly basic salaries running into millions of rupees.
According to the details presented before the Senate, OGDCL Managing Director Ahmed Hayat Lak receives a basic monthly salary of Rs5.564 million (Rs5.564 million), while Chief Financial Officer Muhammad Anis Farooq draws Rs2.837 million per month.
Executive Director Amir Saleem receives a monthly salary of Rs2.2 million, while Executive Director HR Shehzad Safdar, Executive Director Services Zia Salahuddin and Executive Director Atif Ghafoor Mirza each receive Rs1.8 million per month.
The details further showed that General Manager Habibullah Chauhan receives Rs700,000 per month, while General Manager Dr Khalid Amin Khan draws Rs900,000 and General Manager Khurram Shiraz receives Rs1.1 million per month.
Company Secretary Waseem Ahmed receives a monthly salary of Rs600,000, according to the information presented in the Senate.
In addition to their basic salaries, all the aforementioned officers are entitled to a house rent allowance equivalent to 45% of their salaries. They are also provided with official vehicles and fuel facilities as part of their employment benefits.
The disclosure of OGDCL’s senior management compensation packages in the Senate has brought renewed attention to the salaries, allowances and perks being offered to top executives of state-owned enterprises in Pakistan.
