NBP Launches Tree Plantation Drive at Clifton Urban Forest to Promote Sustainability

New-NBP

KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (National Bank of Pakistan) organised a tree plantation drive at the Clifton Urban Forest as part of its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, climate resilience and community engagement, according to a press release issued last week.

The initiative aimed to support environmental conservation efforts while encouraging employee participation and raising awareness about the importance of greener urban spaces for a healthier Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, NBP Group Chief Operations Faisal Ahmed Topra said the plantation activity reflects the bank’s long-term vision of creating positive social and environmental impact for present and future generations. He added that the bank remains committed to promoting sustainability-focused initiatives and community involvement across its operations.

Founder of Clifton Urban Forest Masood Lohar welcomed the initiative and stressed the importance of urban forestry in a megacity like Karachi. He urged more organisations to replicate similar environmental projects nationwide.

He further noted that the forest management team would ensure proper care of the planted saplings so they can grow into fully developed trees within the next three to five years, contributing to long-term ecological improvement in the city.
