KARACHI: The planned electric vehicle assembly plant of BYD in Gharo, Sindh, has missed its earlier operational deadline, with the facility now expected to begin production in the second half of 2026. ISLAMABAD: The federal government has cleared 11,695 pending net-metering applications as part of efforts to facilitate solar consumers and streamline Pakistan’s transition towards a more sustainable power system. Energy Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari directed the relevant authorities to expedite the verification and resolution of pending cases and ensure that consumers receive transparent updates without relying on agents or intermediaries.
