PSO Honours Dealer Network as ‘Cornerstone’ of Pakistan’s Energy Security

PSO-Head

KARACHI: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has honoured its top-performing dealer partners at the PSO Excellence Awards 2026, recognising their contribution to maintaining uninterrupted fuel supplies across the country.

The awards ceremony was attended by PSO Chief Executive Officer Jawwad Ahmed Cheema, Chief Commercial Officer Amir Zaib Khan, senior management, dealer partners and employees, according to a company statement issued on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, Cheema said that as Pakistan’s national oil company, PSO had a responsibility to ensure the availability of fuel nationwide, particularly during periods of high demand, supply constraints and challenging operating conditions.

“Our dealers are the cornerstone of Pakistan’s energy security,” he said, noting that PSO’s commitment to keeping the country fuelled is delivered through a network of more than 3,600 retail outlets.

Cheema said the fuel retail market was undergoing rapid transformation, driven by new market entrants, evolving retail formats and changing customer expectations. He said PSO aimed to regain lost market share by improving its retail sites, service quality, operational standards and use of technology.

He emphasised the need for accurate fuel measurements, uncompromised product quality and safety standards, clean forecourts and properly trained staff to provide customers with a consistent retail experience.

The CEO said the awards went beyond recognising commercial performance, describing them as a reflection of the partnership between PSO and its dealer network. He thanked dealers for maintaining service standards and helping keep the country’s transport and economic activity moving, often under challenging circumstances.

Awards were presented to leading dealers from across Pakistan in recognition of commercial performance, operational excellence, health, safety and environment (HSE) standards, customer service and adoption of best practices.

Members of PSO’s commercial team were also recognised for their contributions to strengthening the company’s retail network and supporting dealer performance.

PSO Plans Retail Network Transformation

PSO said its retail business was entering an ambitious phase of transformation, encompassing new site development, modernisation and rebranding of existing outlets, automation, tank gauging, digital and loyalty initiatives, and an expanded non-fuel retail offering.

The company said its retail strategy would focus on network expansion, operational and HSE excellence, customer service, digitalisation and delivering greater value to consumers, with its dealer network playing a central role in implementing these initiatives.

Dealer partners reaffirmed their commitment to PSO and pledged continued cooperation in improving service standards, operational discipline and the adoption of leading retail practices across the network.

PSO said the initiative was aimed at strengthening its position as Pakistan’s largest and most trusted energy retail network while contributing to the country’s broader energy security requirements.
